The Adam and Eve
Breathing life back into a heritage of 200 years

The Adam and Eve

Before

The Adam and Eve was a very well known day and night time pub, but due to challenges with the licence came to auction. It needed internal modernisation and re configuring to create 3 separate accommodation units, along with a commercial space on the ground floor.

During

While the rooms were already in play for 2 of the three units, there was a substantial floor area requiring new heating, re-wire and upgrading of existing facilities, along with 3 kitchens, multiple en-suites and all the necessary cosmetic improvements!

A large challenge of this project was a lack of delivery room and a very constrained site to the neighbouring buildings. This caused problems for rendering the side of the buildings! There was also a terrace area that needed securing.

After

Now completed, the property is 14 en-suite rooms, each having food storage and a "snack station" for teas and coffees.

In addition the downstairs area is occupied by Evolve - a local charity that provide a not for profit coffee shop and events space. They provide good, honest food using local and ethical suppliers.

Evolve's mission is to support local young people, who may have experienced barriers to employment, into work with a current team of 7 young people working in our stores, serving stellar coffees and delicious lunch options - all whilst gaining employment, training opportunities and a fair wage.
